cornwall | polgooth inn.

'Twas a beautiful Saturday afternoon and I ventured down to the pretty little village o Polgooth, near St Austell. I'd never been there before, but on arrival I was pleasantly surprised to find a quaint little country pub overlooking countryside and a lake. Perfect.

Inside was ever so snug. Wood burners in every corner, comfy corner sofas & tables and old cosy decoration. They even supply blankets to borrow to sit outside with if you're feeling chilly! What a lovely touch :)

The food was incredible. For a local pub it was exceptional. Good value and delicious. I had the goats cheese & caramelized red onion marmalade on bread for starter then sausage and onion sandwich and it was truly the best pub grub I've ever had. (I've also been back since and had the duck salad-yummy!)

I was we'll impressed and will be going back for sure, especially seen as its a doggy friendly pub! Love finding these cute country pubs in Cornwall.

cornwall | Fifteen.

For my birthday last year, my lovely dad (who thinks of the most thoughtful gifts) presented me with a voucher for Jamie Oliver's FIFTEEN restaurant here in Cornwall. I've never been before so was really excited! Chris and I decided to save the vouchers for a little while for when were on holiday together at the beginning of this year. So, on 3rd January we dragged ourselves out of bed super early and headed down to Newquay. Fifteen is located ON the beach at Watergate Bag. And I mean ON the beach! You can't beat the location.

We booked in for breakfast there after hearing rave reviews about their breakfast. The day we went was grey and windy and rainy, but it didn't matter, this was out special treat!

The restaurant itself is very special-modern, cosy and cool. We had the best seat-window seats looking out onto the beach and beating waves below us. It was literally perfection. I chose the porridge which was quite incredible, you can't beat porridge right?! Chris went for the famous Fifteen Fry-up which looked amazing. We shared juices of fresh orange & pink grapefruit (it was worth going just for those-amazing!) and enjoyed a coffee after. All in all it was £30 altogether which is bloody good considering the food and the fact that something like that is a treat and not something you do everyday.

We can't wait to go back again & I have a feeling it's going to become 'our place' to go there for breakfast when we fancy a treat :).

Cornwall: The Eden Project.

So, this place is known world-wide. And so it should be, it's so amazing. I'm lucky enough to live just 5 minutes away from The Eden Project and have been there loads of times. People travel from all over the world to come here and I feel very privileged to live so nearby and to go there so often.
I was at work today and managed to get down there and it was the most glorious day weather wise and I had such a lovely afternoon at Eden.
I really think everyone should come here at least once in their life, its one of the most beautiful places I've ever been & it's quite eye-opening. The food is to delish and the gift shop is to die for! So many lovely hand-made natural goodies to spend your pennies on!

The sun was shining very bright today and it made the place even more enjoyable. Hope you enjoy the photos!

Some beautiful flowers at the entrance (you see a lot of flowers at Eden!)
The first glimpse of the biomes when you walk into Eden-a pretty special sight.
Lunch time! Mozerella & tomato bruschetta with salad & potatoes-yum!
Lavender Ice-cream...ORGASMIC!
Sitting in the gardens with a biome behind me.
Shot of Eden from the bridge.

You can check out Eden and all the amazing things they do here.

I really, truly adore this place and can't wait for some warmer weather to spend some more wonderful days here.
