The Alex by Ikea

Standing proud in my bedroom, the Alex.

The Face Drawer-foundations, bb creams, tinted moisturisers, bronzers, concealers, highlighters & blushers.
The Eye Drawer-eyeshadows, creams, pencils, pallettes & mascaras.
The Lip Drawer-lipsticks, balms, tints, pencils, pens, and some other bits and bobs.
The Nail Drawer-everything nails.

Yes, I finally gave in and spent the dosh on the infamous beauty storage solution. Nearly every beauty blogger/YouTuber will have this little baby in their home, housing all the precious make-u and beauty related items and I am NOT dissapointed. First off, it was super easy to build-I did it myself, and that is al the proof of the ease that you need. And it is just the perfect make-up storage. I've got everything in there, from nail polishes to skincare to make-up and body care. I am in love. It's from Ikea and priced at around £90 which, in my opinion is completely worth it.

clean brush.

There is nothing better than the sight of a bunch of freshly cleaned make-up brushes is there? Whilst I probably don't wash mine as much as I should, I do it thouraghly.

Once a week I deep clean all my brushes with baby shampoo. Most of my brushes are Real Techniques and they clean beautifully are really are good as new once dry.

I simply run some warm water, get the brush wet (always point the brush down) and pop a bit of shampoo on the palm of my hand and then swirl the brush around until the water runs clear.

a few Cornish days #2

This weekend has been lovely. Very rarely do me & Chris have a weekend off together where we don't have anything to do and no work or gigs. So we've been really looking forward to it. I would describe this weekend in three words;
FOOD
COSY
AUTUMN
Saturday began with an epic lie-in, a trip out shopping, buying some baking goodies, going to a Cornish market buying goodies, baking a cake and walking the dog. It's felt really wintery this weekend and LOVE it! Autumn & winter is my fave time of year :)
Sunday was another lie-in, mowing the garden, baking, family, home made soup & good TV.

Its really been a lovely couple of days but now even more depressed about going back to work :(

I need to win the lottery!!!

stomp! | face of the evening.

Yup....you can tell winter is coming by the look of my make-up! I am now going back to my winter shades in foundation and cutting back on the ol' bronzer.

I went out for the night last week; dinner & a show and wanted a casual but long lasting look.

I used my Photo ready foundation is 'vanilla', warmed up with some Chanel Bronze Universal, Body Shop concealer in light, Urban Decay Naked palette for eyes with MAC Zoom-lash mascara. Finished off with a bit of blush and a sweep of powder. My make up stayed on all night and was still going strong when I got home-pretty happy with that!

a cornish (rubbish) sunday.

I feel really yucky today, poorly yucky that is. And no it's not the Sunday morning hangover that most 23 year olds have right now as I don't drink.

I've not been very well all week and feel even worse today; so it's a day to leave the housework for another day, eat continent food (if it even agrees with my stomach) & lounge around in pjs all day. I have the two perfect ingredients or this kind of Sunday;

A new flash box Glossybox. Filled with lots of NUXE & Docteur Reynaud products to play around with. Also two new chick-flicks 'The Lucky One' & 'Remember Me'

But right now, I'm going to lay in bed looking out my window and read my book and not even worry about things that have to be done.

This, my friends, is a rubbish cornish (poorly) Sunday.
